Any guest wishing to utilize a tax exemption MUST present a physical or digital copy of the current, valid tax exemption in order for you to rescind the tax from the sale. We do not typically keep a tax exemption list as the forms must be submitted with the receipts for accounting and tax purposes. We are also unable to retroactively apply a tax exemption (via a refund) as certificates must be presented at the time of sale.
It's important we follow these guidelines as tax fraud is an easy scam to fall victim to. It is ALWAYS ok to tell a customer you are just following policy and have no way to override, even if you wanted to.
NOTE: large groups and organizations typically email their exemptions over in advance. In this case, Jess will print a copy to go along with records.Â
Open up ticket/receipt
& tap on the "tax" line.
A new box will pop up, tap the "X" to remove the sales tax.
Tap "save" to apply
new tax settings.
Back on the receipt screen, verify that tax has been removed.
