We have a really fun donation package that’s great for silent auctions, raffles, or any non-profit event! Our donation package is one free paint a plaque experience (we typically have a heart and funky square shape) and no studio fee – a $35 value!
● First, locate a donation box which should be full of shred and contain a donation certificate, all it’s missing is a donation number and some studio information! Donations work a lot like gift certificates.
● Pull out the gift certificates and donations log and flip to the donations section in the back, list the receiving organization, and locate the next available number. Make an entry in the log, completing the date and your name.
● Write “TPPC Donations and the year” on the top of the donation request form or event flyer. We must always have some sort of verifiable printed documentation in order to issue donations.
o Note: customers may also email us at our studio Gmail account (thepotteryplacechattanooga@gmail.com) but you’ll want to forward that email over to the studio owner for printing at create@thepotteryplacechattanooga.com
● Put the donation certificate back in its box along with a studio information card and you’re done!
● Locate the donation in the log book. Indicate in the log that the donation has been used and the date.
● Most customers have the 2024 donation kit that includes a blank plaque for them to bring in and paint, no return/studio fee required.
***Occasionally someone will bring you a paper donation certificate in the shape of a plaque to exchange for a bisqued one. In that case, let the customer chose from our donation plaques which one they would like to complete. (These are located near the fully put together boxes)
***We will always honor gift certificates & donations, even if they are technically expired.
● Write a receipt for the customer and staple the donation certificate to the back. You'll want to ring it into the register as a "Return for Firing" so we can generate a firing ticket and connect the guest to the pottery notification system when it is done.
