At check out, guests should choose a "Staff Poured" or "DIY Pour Experience" to denote how they would like to have their candle finished.
If Staff Poured, select the desired scent (or unscented) from the available options.
If the guest would like to pour their own, choose "DIY Pour Experience".
Print two tickets at check out (one for candle filling and one for order sorting) and these notations will appear on the firing ticket. We will use them to fill/store vessels after kiln firing or sort holding pieces that are waiting for the candle to be completed.
No outside vessels permitted
No refunds, but guests may receive store credit or reschedule with 24+ hrs notice
Candles left over 30 days will be repurposed/donated
If a candle cracks or malfunctions, we will happily repour it if the faulty one is returned
Guests may bring back clean vessels from our house-made line for a $15 refill
Refills are staff poured only, not part of DIY Pour Night
Match vessels with firing tickets.
For those with staff poured scent options, place the firing ticket with the vessel(s) and place in the designated "vessels waiting to be poured" area. Additional non-candle pieces can be wrapped with the 2nd copy of the firing ticket and left in the "waiting on candles" area. We will text them their pieces are ready after we have filled the candle vessel and allowed it time to set.
For those with "DIY Pour Experience" designation, sign them up for the next DIY experience night online through the internal scheduler. They will get an email to change the date/time at their convenience. Then, place the firing ticket and vessel(s) in the "DIY Pour Experience" holding space.
Ensure the vessel is dry, clean, and room temperature.
Stick wick(s) to the bottom center of the vessel using wick stickers or a dab of hot glue.
For vessels: use 2 wicks evenly spaced.
For molds: use 1 wick each unless multi-wick is clearly indicated.
Secure wick(s) upright using centering sticks.
Guests may mix and match all 10 scents and 4 colors.
We have swatch papers to test scents.
Wax should be at a safe pouring temperature (135–145°F).
Prep by pre-heating 3lbs (minimum) of wax pellets for 20 minutes by setting the temperature dial and flipping the switch to "on".
Add fragrance oil to wax at ~10% ratio (about 8 drops total)
Add dye drops based on desired intensity (1 to 3)
Guests slowly pour wax into the vessel/mold, leaving ~¼” at the top.
Staff should supervise closely during this step to avoid burns/spills.
Tap the vessel gently to release air bubbles.
Adjust centering sticks if wicks shift.
Write guest’s name & date on a piece of masking tape placed on a tray.
Place candle in level, undisturbed storage area to set overnight.
Confirm pickup window: available next day, held for 30 days.
Cracked or faulty candles may be repoured if the original is returned.
No outside vessels are permitted at this time.
Refills of studio-made vessels are $15 (staff-poured only, not DIY).
🔥 While Wax Is Still Warm (Preferred Method):
Wipe First, Not Rinse
While the wax is still warm (not hot), wipe out as much as possible using paper towels.
Dispose of waxy towels in a trash can—never pour wax down the sink.
Use Rubbing Alcohol
Spray the inside with rubbing alcohol.
Let it sit for 30 seconds, then wipe thoroughly with a clean paper towel.
Final Wash
Use warm water and dish soap to wash out remaining residue.
Dry completely with a towel to avoid wax re-solidifying in the vessel.
❄️ If Wax Has Hardened:
Gently Reheat
Boil water in electric kettle and pour into vessel to soften. Allow to cool and wax will float to the top.
Boil water again and pour into vessel to soften any remaining wax on the walls; pour out hot water.
Once soft, follow the wipe and spray method above.
Don’t pour wax down any drains (it will clog your plumbing).
Don’t use scalding water directly in wax-filled vessels—wax will float and stick to pipes.
Don’t use abrasive scrubbers on your silicone molds—they’ll lose their non-stick finish.
Ensure all ceramic vessels are fully glazed and ready
Wax station is fully stocked: wax pitchers, scents, dyes, wicks, stickers, centering sticks
Pouring area is clean, uncluttered, and labeled
Signage and scent menus are placed at each table
Check that wax melting pot is heated safely, wax temp is ~135–145°F
Greet guests warmly, offer safety glasses or gloves if desired
Guide guests through scent and color selection
Supervise wax pouring closely (especially around kids or hesitant guests)
Help with wick placement and centering if needed
Label each candle clearly with guest name, scent, and date
Store candles level and undisturbed overnight
Never leave wax warming unattended
Keep cords, wax, and hot items out of reach of children
If wax spills, clean immediately with paper towels and rubbing alcohol—do not mop
