Gift Certificate Log

Physical gift certificates look like this. 

TO SELL A CERTIFICATE: Use the above tool to create a certificate by choosing your location and relevant information, be sure it is also rang into Square and payment taken appropriately.

Then grab a physical gift certificate and write the purchase amount, certificate number, and date of purchase in for the guest. Typically we allow them to fill out the 'to', 'from', and 'note' fields unless there's a special request.

TO REDEEM A CERTIFICATE: In Square, it acts as a payment type. To redeem from the gift certificate log, use the above tool to look up the certificate number > check balance to pull up the certificate. Then use the redeem boxes to note the amount to redeem, your name, and any notes. Press "redeem" to send it through and update the gift certificate.

NOTES:
Gift certificates are coded by location. Certificates starting with
"GC-N" = NorthShore and those with "GC-H" = Hamilton Place we can take GC as payment from either location but need to keep sales separate for accounting purposes.
